    • Soaps are sodium salts of fatty acids.It is biodegradable and chows cleansing action by removing dirt Mechanism of cleansing action : Soap has molecules with tadpole likestructure,which is hydrophillic and long tail is made up of hydrocarbon chain which is hydrophobic,it attraccts the dirt and removes it. When soap is added to water it forms micelles.
